A Note from Silverwood Farm Regarding Horse Trial Refunds

Printer-friendly versionSend to friend

My horse came up lame!  It is after closing and I have a vet report.  Can I

get a refund or a transfer to another show?

The short answer is no, even if we need to cancel due to reasons beyond our control.  Here is why:  By the time closing has happened, the show facility will have the same expenses even if you do not show.  Officials and staff will need to be paid as they cannot fill in the date on such a short notice.  The facility has been working on the course for weeks getting ready, prizes and other expenses are the same too.  The profit in horse shows is not great and the expenses are very high.
While we would wish we could refund you, it is not financially possible.
Please read the Omnibus or the prize list for the show.  If it states "No
refunds for any reason" please enter knowing this information.

If the show is full and there is a wait list, this may be exception to this
rule at some shows.  Also, ask the show if you can bring a different mount.
Even if there is a charge for this you would not lose your whole entry.

Our goal is the same as yours, to see you and your horse compete and have a great time!
