Horse and Rider combination must place 1st - 4th in any one event in any Area at the level at which they will compete at the Championships.

* The 2009 Area IV Championships were hosted by Hunter Oaks Horse Trials. Unfortunately, the event was cancelled due to torrential downpours and subsequent flooding. The 2009 Championships were awarded based upon points earned at USEA Area IV Competitions for the 2009 calendar year instead.
